Breeders' Cup winners flock to Florida
By MIKE WELSCH

MIAMI - South Florida will be the home of Breeders' Cup champions this winter.

Four of the eight Breeders' Cup winners are already stabled in the area, with a fifth, Street Sense, expected to join trainer Carl Nafzger's stable at Palm Meadows in the near future.

Dreaming of Anna, wire-to-wire winner of the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies, took up residence with trainer Wayne Catalano's stable at Palm Meadows on Thanksgiving Day. She joined Round Pond, heroine of the Distaff for trainer Michael Matz, and Invasor, the Kiaran McLaughlin-trained Classic winner who shipped into the Boynton Beach training facility earlier in the month.

Miesque's Approval, who captured the Breeders' Cup Mile for trainer Marty Wolfson, is a regular south Florida resident, having been stabled at Calder throughout the year.

All five of those Breeders' Cup winners are expected to run this winter at Gulfstream Park, although Miesque's Approval is expected to launch his 2007 campaign at Santa Anita in the Sunshine Millions Turf. Invasor's itinerary calls for a start in the Grade 1 Donn Handicap on Feb. 3 before he heads to Dubai to compete in the $6 million Dubai World Cup on March 31.
